The purpose of the Foundation is to promote safeguarding of cultural property in conflict-affected areas, in the event of disasters of other kinds or in acute threat situations as well as in research. The Foundation’s primary task is to build financial resources to enable to build information and exchange activities with organizations and institutions in areas affected by conflicts etcetera or where there is a threat of conflict. Furthermore, the Foundation shall collaborate with expert bodies in Sweden and internationally, provide financial support and provide expert assistance for conservation efforts in the form of education, documentation, protective measures and the restoration, repair or reconstruction of cultural heritage and museum collections, as well as for research to safeguard cultural heritage in crisis and conflict situations, and natural disasters or equivalent.
