In April Cultural Heritage without Borders was invited to present its pioneering peacebuilding work at the American Alliance of Museums conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

Munuve Mutisya, project manager of the Community Peace Museums and Heritage Foundation (Kenya) and Tanja Cvjeticanin, Chair of the Balkan Museum Network discussed the challenges and successes of museums as agents of social justice, inclusion and peacebuilding in post-conflict countries. A third member of the panel was Irina Zadov from the Jane Addams-Hull House Museum, Chicago. The panel was chaired by Diana Walters, BMN steering group member and consultant working for CHwB.

The meeting was well attended and a lively discussion about museums, heritage and peace proved that this work is timely, vital and has real impact. The panel showcased a diversity of views and opinions – showing there are many ways to build peace.

Attendance at the event was supported by Swedish ICOM and the AAM.
